Privacy Policy
Version 0.2 – 04/11/2026. Indicative text, updated for Google Analytics 4 with consent; this policy will be revised once the consortium’s Data Management Plan (D1.1) is finalised.
This website, entreblue.eu, is the website of the ENTREBLUE project, funded by the European Union through the EIT Higher Education Initiative (EIT HEI). It is operated by the Center for Sustainability (C4S), Nicosia, Cyprus, on behalf of the ENTREBLUE consortium, which is coordinated by the University of Piraeus Research Center (UPRC).
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller for personal data collected through this website is UPRC, as project coordinator, and C4S acts as data processor in its role as website operator.
What personal data we collect
Contact form
When you use the contact form we collect your name, e-mail address, the subject you select and the content of your message. Each message is sent by e-mail to the project team; it is not stored in the website database.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter we collect your e-mail address. We use double opt-in: your subscription is activated only after you confirm it through the e-mail we send you.
Technical and security data
Like every website, our hosting provider and our security software record technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs, in order to deliver the website and to protect it against attacks.
Analytics
With your consent, given through the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (connected through the Google Site Kit plugin) to count visits and understand which pages are read. Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode: until you accept statistics cookies, no analytics cookies are set and no identifier is stored on your device. IP addresses are truncated. The data are used only in aggregated form to improve the website and to report on the project’s outreach. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the Manage consent button on every page. Details of the cookies used are in our Cookie Policy.
Why we process your data and on what legal basis
- Answering your enquiries – your consent given when you submit the contact form, and our legitimate interest in replying to you (Art. 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR).
- Sending the newsletter – your consent, confirmed through double opt-in (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time through the unsubscribe link in every e-mail.
- Measuring website use (analytics) – your consent given in the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Operating and securing the website – our legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long we keep your data
- Contact-form enquiries: up to 12 months after your enquiry has been dealt with, or earlier at your request.
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, or until the end of the project at the latest.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics 4 retains user-level data for 14 months; aggregated reports are kept for the duration of the project.
- Technical logs: for a limited period in line with the retention practices of our hosting and security providers.
Who has access to your data
Your data are accessed only by the members of the ENTREBLUE team who need them to respond to you. Enquiries that concern a specific partner organisation may be forwarded to that partner within the consortium. We use the following service providers, which process data on our behalf:
- SiteGround – website hosting, with servers located in the European Union (Netherlands).
- Wordfence (Defiant Inc.) – website security; IP addresses of visitors may be processed to detect attacks.
- Google Ireland Limited – Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
- OpenStreetMap – the map on the Partners page loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers, which receive your IP address when the map is displayed.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share them with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have them corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to their processing, to receive them in a portable format and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@center4sustainability.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
